Echo Effect is an extra-curricular a cappella group at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. The group consisted of high school guys, freshmen to seniors that rehearse two nights a week, sing at school events, and compete each spring in ICHSA (the International Championship of High School A Cappella).
I directed Echo Effect during the time I was at Northwestern for grad school. Rehearsal was a highlight of each week – a chance to step out of the “serious” part of my life and also to see the passion and excitement they brought to their singing and and musical brotherhood.
